PM,
Do you find it odd that Chad Morris was interviewed. He and Gus are supposedly very tight. Why would they interview both of those guys unless Gus recommended that they interview him?

Why does Auburn stirve for mediocrity in football? I'm really just sick to my stomach after another EPIC FAIL of a coaching search by Jacobs.

I thought that a defensive coach would be what would benefit Auburn the most, but second thoughts say we haven't done that well with the last two. Malzahn pointed out the unrest that was gaining ground with the players early, so it isn't going to be a shock although there will be some shock in not being ignored. The door is still open to Coach Smart unless he has nudged it closed. I think Malzahn may be tougher than we thought. If you recall, in 2009 he was regarded very highly and there were daily crying sessions at the thought of his leaving and now there are crys of anguish at the idea that he might be back. Ah fans, they offer one at least of every bent.

As I said earlier, I don't know but I suspect that was a favor for someone. Assistant coaches like to have their names connected with coaching searches.

I don't know if he has been given an offer. I think it is likely he is hired, but nothing is certain until it happens.
