It's not that there is anything wrong with Gus. He is a typical Auburn hire. The problem is that Auburn just doesn't believe we are a big enough program to go out and hire the best coach in the country. Honestly, If Gus can keep his wife from embarrassing us he will probably be fine.

The guy runs the offense that Saban struggles against. Mark my words...lil nicky just crapped his pants. He is calling the SEC office now to ask for the rules to be changed so he can get his defensive players in and out. Or at least let Ritter be his ref for his games. I am stoked. WAR EAGLE!

This may be the greatest hire of all. At least now maybe we can get rid of some of the fair weather sidewalk Auburn fans! I am willing to bet however that when he starts winning these same people will be back proclaiming their undying devotion. To bad we can save this page for future reference. War Eagle now and forever! No matter who the coach is!!!

While I was very content with Smart, one concern I had was that he couldn't offer an alternative to Saban, Malzahn's offense does. I was giving a slight edge to Smart, but think Malzahn's offense can work initial wonders.
