The old guard comment is definitely true. Pat Dye and a lot of others wanted a return to 3 yards and a cloud of dust. They seem to miss the fact that running is really what Malzahn's offense does. Anyway, the honest UAT fans will admit that Gus is winner and that concerns them.
I think, at some level, he brings fears of the second half of the 2010 game back to them. They fear that with the team talent we have, their days of pounding us are over.

In much of my experience, when a bammer suggests something like this, it usually means 1 Auburn fan said something = "ALL the Auburn people are saying. . ."

Most Auburn fans Ive spoken with are excited about the Malzahn era.
