I've had my reservations about Malzahn after learning about the lack of discipline and structure that once existed. If you read the Q&A from Phillip, he seems to clear that up:
"Was Gus Malzahn accountable for some of the discipline issues during his time at Auburn?
On the contrary, from what we are told. He was troubled by some things he saw and said so privately to no avail."

He can run a mean offense when he doesn't have somebody interfering with him doing his job. I was wondering about the defense, but he shut out his opponent the other night in a conference championship. If he were to be hired at Auburn, he would have the resources to hire a top-notch DC.

I don't know if he's the best candidate out of those we're considering. But we can certainly do much worse.
