Bryan,
When i hear guys like Lutz talk about the current staff I get such mixed feelings. None of us are happy with the current situation, but what if Chizik could turn this thing around? I have thought all along we are 4 changes away from being a different team:
1. Decent QB 2. New OC 3. New DL coach 4. Change the culture by getting rid of Tim Jackson and most importantly, Chiz needs to let his coaches coach.
We may have solved #1 with Wallace, but certainly with J. Johnson coming in the QB position looks a lot better than this year. I like Pelton, but since Rocker has left the DL technique is pitiful and a change has to be made! I dont know if Lefty is just not a good OC or if Chiz is just too involved, either way, someone has to take the rap for this year and if Chiz stays, then Lefty has to go. BVG will figure out how to stop the NH offense before next season. None of this works if Chiz does not give up control of the defense and offense and become a true head coach. I don't want to loose the momentum we have in recruiting and Chiz is the key to that.
Am i crazy? Fire away guys.
Attitude is Everything

You aren't crazy, just oversimplifying things greatly.
You hear the guys talk about "swagger" pretty often. They lost that when Cam and Nick and those seniors left.
Chizik isn't a bad coach, but he isn't good enough.
These guys don't need a friend at this age, they need someone to stay in their face and MAKE them do the right things. That isn't happening at Auburn. The coaches are giving them enough rope and the guys are hanging themselves.
The curfew is not a popular thing, btw. Riding the guys and making them work hard isn't about keeping them from girls, its about expectations and living up to those. You don't need a curfew if you have them properly motivated.
Basically, its a culture problem. Not any one position.

***Lutzenkirchen said it's been different going through what's he's been through and having to give up the rest of his senior season. It will be tough not being able to play against Georgia.
***Lutz said he tore the labrum and had three bone spurs in his left hip. He said he's been dealing with the injury for a year. The doctors said if he didn't deal with it now, he would have to have hip replacement surgery before he was 30. They performed arthroscopic surgery.
***Lutz expects to be back and ready to go after a 3-month rehab. He plans to be ready for the Senior Bowl or the NFL combine.
***Lutz said the injury cut down on his speed and he wasn't able to sustain blocks like he normally could.
***Lutz said he's hoping to return to jogging in about a month and a half. He is working with Auburn's rehab specialist every day.
***Lutz said one of the best decisions in his life was to come to Auburn. He said he's glad he stuck with Auburn after Tuberville was let go in 2008.
"In my heart I knew I wanted to go to Auburn, regardless," he said.
***Some of his best memories were scoring his first TD against MSU, all the comebacks during 2010 season. He said his favorite play from that season was when Kodi Burns scored in the national championship game. He also said the TD catch against Alabama in 2010 was a special moment.
***Lutz said he never expected his career to end like this but that, "God has a plan for me."
***Lutz said he played football and tried to live the right way. He said he was very humbled when an older lady came up to him at a restaurant recently and thanked him for what he's done for Auburn.
***Lutz said he won't return to football until he's 100 percent. He said he's going to work as hard as he can to make an NFL team whether he's drafted or not.
***Lutz said continuing to be with the team and help the younger TE's and players is important to him.
"I owe a lot to Auburn. Auburn doesn't owe anything to me," he said.
***Lutz said you can't just shut yourself off from the world when things are going bad.
***Lutz said it's tough to see the criticism the current coaching staff is going through right now. He said teams are going to have highs and lows. He said Coach Chizik is doing a good job taking it week by week and getting the team ready to play. He said they should be able to block out the criticism and be ready for this rivalry game against UGA.
