I'm still taking it with a grain of salt right now, since I don't have a clue where it came from. I was hoping maybe some people on here knew about it as well. I'm assuming (which I know is a bad thing to do) that it was on radio or TV since it's not on their website yet. As I don't have access to a radio or live TV where I am at the moment, I was hoping someone on here could confirm/deny that the report is out there. Whether it's valid will have to wait for much more reliable people or an actual statement from parties involved.

Basically right now I'm just trying to find out of this report actually exists.

I don't know if this is what they are talking about, but Luginbil talked about the subject last night after the Alabama game when ESPNU was doing their little "Sports Center" show.

They chatted about the subject, showed the interview with Newton's lawyer, and then had Schlabach on the phone to discuss it.

Luginbil was real clear in pointing out that, not only has nothing been PROVEN against Auburn, they have yet to even be ACCUSED of anything. He went on to say that Cam Newton has also not been accused of anything. He said this is much more about Mississippi State and Kenny Rogers than it is about Auburn.

I have to say that it made me feel good to hear him saying that so boldly. Even Schlabach said similar things, noting that there are NO allegations against Auburn or even specifically against Cam.

It was nice to hear both of those guys say those things clearly.

I would be surprised if Luginbil made a claim that someone at the NCAA had told him anything. He's not really that kind of guy at ESPN. He's an analyst, and the recruiting director. I've never known him to claim any "sources" or anything, he's not a reporter.

If that segment last night is what the post was referencing, I don't recall him claiming anything other than what he knows and believes.
