  • Worst officiating I have seen this year. Henderson has mastered the art of falling into a defender to get a foul or crying like a baby to get a call.

  • Barbee wanted us to show up and support the team and help make a strong home court advantage. We have had good crowds the past couple of home games and still now W's. One was a blowout loss to a team that Bama beat. To me, this proves that the Auburn fans will support the basketball team, but at the end of the day, if the team keeps losing they will loose interest.

  • We need to stop blaming the offficiating and blame the real culprit - an inept offense. Auburn had opportunity after opportunity to pull away tonight and seemed only to be able to throw up three point attempts most of the second half. I don't know if it's coaching or if we just don't have any shooters on this team. But until we find some consistent offensive production, especially at home, we'll have a lot of nights of complaining about officiating.

  • Amazing how people can find anyone to blame for a loss except the players and coaches....the fans, the refs, etc....blah blah, blah....

  • I hope the fans keep showing up. This is a good team on the verge of winning some games in the next year or two. Barbee is doing a good job in a football town without a deep basketball tradition. It'll come, just need to keep showing support so the guys we have stick around and we can recruit a couple of more guys.

You have to overcome bad officiating, but if you look at the stats for the year ole miss leads the conference in 3 point defense. Our defense held them to 14 under their avg., but a loss is still a loss. A horrible foul call on us after a no call on them pounding Denson right at the end is easy to pick out and blame. Henderson should have had a t for taunting the students, but he snuck it in behind the refs back. What an ahole. I can't figure if we or barbee get shafted or if these sec refs are just that bad. Consistency is what gets preached to all these refs. Maybe they don't understand the word.

normally I would side with you, but tonight this ref that they are mentioning was calling garbage the entire time. Kids taking 6 steps at times with no travel whistle, etc. The punk on Ole PIss's team really was a thespian this evening and ultimately bought a call with 6.5 seconds left. We lost this game on a damn good acting job. Other than that, we shot cold when we needed it most.

  • All "excuses" aside. Let's not forget that a damn good team us tonight. A damn good team. Let's not forget that. This wasn't (and again to reference earlier posts', the same home losses of the 2010-2011 Season.

For a refresher, may this loss to Ole Miss (soon to be in the Top 20, with a 16-2 {6-0 Conference) Record) tonight NOT be confused with ANY of the following (all two short years ago from the 2011-2012 squad who, by the end of the season had improved drastically, SOMEHOW managed to win 4 Conference Games and these, all during the "Inaugural Season" of Auburn Arena"): the Columbus State Cougars, the Presbyterian College Blue Hose, the Campbell College Fighting Camels, the Samford University Bulldogs, and the Jacksonville (FL) University Dolphins (and I stopped short of listing some other 'gems').

Whoever thinks Barbee is on "the seat" or should be on "the seat" (no offense) either hasn't watched any of his AU teams "really" play or has a limited knowledge of College Hoops (I, for one, don't go on "Brain Surgery" Message Boards and claim to have anything relevant to add); I get the feeling that some of those bashing Tony Barbee might not realize exactly what he brings to the table (aside from W's and L's). Namely toughness. "Not knowing" is OK (none of us really know that much).

  • What a heartbreaker of a game. We totally deserved to have won that. Too bad for that last 2 minutes of the 1st half slip away. And also the ending of the game. Sure woulda been nice if we took care of business on our last possesion and scored a basket to put them behind. We had the ball. Had the time out and had it to inbounds from half court and just couldnt get er done.... We played our hearts out and that was a VERY GOOD Ole Miss team out there that we coulda/shoulda beat.... Man

Tough pill is correct PM ~

  • i expect to battle the officials on the road, but it seems we also have to battle them at home...there were several times in the second half om traveled while driving to the basket and it never got called and every time Henderson fell down we got hit with a fould...that last one was a joke and Henderson's taunting the student section at the end showed a complete lack of class

  • Auburn Basketball will be fine. They lost to a very good team by 2 points in the final 6 seconds. As crazy as this sounds, this season is far from over. Still a lot of games left and if we go on a good run at the right time the NIT is possible. Plus we get a second chance at each of these 4 teams we lost to. After watching tonight and what i thought was going to be a blowout, I'm still slightly optimistic.

  • Andy Kennedy is a good coach, but he is a scumbag and it shows in his players attitudes. Henderson is a good player, but his actions tonight should have been stopped early on by his coach. A truely great player doesn't act like that, but a great coach would have sat him early and stopped it.

  • Quit the complaining about Henderson. The fact is Ole Miss gave us every opportunity to win this game but we just aren't good enough. We have got to get some kind of inside game or we may not win over another game or two. We did play hard but we simply do not have the talent to win. Will Barbee ever get? Your guess is as good as mine.
