Loeffler needs to go!

  • Ok... I'm an Auburn alumni, supporter, contributor, and die hard fan. Let me first say that I like coach Chizik, and I more than understand and expected a mediocre year with this transition to a different style of football. However, what I saw Saturday against Vandy was the last straw and ounce of patience I have for Scott Loeffler. By my count, there have been four games that we could have won had the playing calling simply followed a formula that the entire Auburn fan base recognizes. I for one have had enough of this erratic play calling.

  • It's not so much Loeffler; its Chizik meddling with the offense. Chizik is mico-managing the team and not letting CSL do HIS JOB. Again, JACOBS - GONE! CHIZIK - GONE! The rest will wait for the next head coach to decide....

    Loeffler was hired by Chizik with no QB, no proven SEC RB, an OL with one senior and no say in who his assistants are. Give me a break. Jacobs and Chizik are responsible and they must go. I bet Petrino would possibly keep Loeffler as QB coach and fire the RB and WR assistants that can't coach.

    I don't think Loeffler is a great coach, but I also don't think he's our main problem. It's his boss.

    Give you a break? So you're defending this guy and the plays that are called? If you're missing all those elements you stated, then you find a gameplan and stick to it... Not a bunch of different formations and sets, and not emphasize our strengths.

  • if what everyone says is true and Chiz is meddling in the offense to the extent as everyone feels then i would wonder thy CSL would not have the nerve to stand up and say this is my career you are messing with and this is the way i am going to run this game plan. if you don't like it then i am walking right now. One year salary is nothing compared to a career the wants. This is going to kill his career.

  • And Chizik is a defensive minded coach... To put the blame of offensive play calling on him sounds a bit delusional. Sure, he's a head coach and has say over how he'd like the game played (i.e. wanting to run or pass or play-action) but do you actually think he calls the plays? If that's the case why even hire an OC? Yes, Loeffler was Chizik's hire and he's accountable for that but it's also his job to correct that mistake. But hey, if you guys want AU to play head coach carousel like every other school that's up and down every other year then that's fine with me and that's what Auburn will be. I'll still say WDE cuz its the school I love.

    What is his offense?? That was the worst play calling I have ever seen in my life. 3rd and 8 and we throw a three yard pass????
    Never run to the wide side of the field, the other teams defense knows what we are doing before the ball is even snapped. I've never seen anything like it.

    Exactly... All these people theorizing that Chizik is running the offense doesn't make sense at all. He's a manager. A manager wouldn't do the detailed work. Otherwise why hire subordinates? SL is dialing up these horrible calls.

    Watch the Clemson game if you want to see the only example of SL's offense at AU. And even that had some Chiz "suggestions." He'll be a good OC somewhere else when he can run his offense.

  • I agree!!!!! Why can't we fire Loeffler and make a statement that we are OVER HIM! He is a terrible play caller and needs to pack his bags NOW!
