Was magnificent. Now we know why, right? Chiz was busy/distracted playing DC and Gus was once again allowed to be Gus. Want further proof? Look at our early games in 2010 against State, Clemson, Kentucky, etc. before Chiz had any choice but to back off. Until then, he had the handcuffs on Gus and, quite frankly, we were lucky we got past several of those games.
Look, Gene is a top notch DC, but obviously a divisive and bad HC. There's nothing wrong with that in theory. History has been written with countless great leaders being backed by strong lieutenants. Gene did this in 2004 for Tubs, and he had Gus as a #2 for his success in 2010.
Auburn power brokers now have to make the move they know needs to made, and I hope not a single $ from the big boys isn't given until the necessary change is, in fact, made. I wouldn't pay for a ticket right now if I lived in the vicinity of my alma mater. I love AU and thats the point - its so painfully obvious that he's destroying the program (lets not get started on the incompetent holy roller heading up the AD) that drastic measures need to be taken to make sure our boys, students, alumni, and fans get what they expect and deserve - a winning and successful program.
