Wow....this has definitely caught me off guard. BM, do you know if they're moving closer to their hometown?

Thought Kouassi would be a force in the middle next year. Really is dissapointing that year after year we have players leave before they even have a chance to mature in Barbee's system. Feels like we start from ground zero every year. Any ideas why they would transfer?

I don't think distance from Bham will play a part in their decision.

So they transferred because they didn't get along with Barbee....

That stings. I am trying to stay positive. However, this player carousel is starting to get to me a little. I know Barbee is trying to establish aprogram but you have to keep your players for some type of consistency. The kind of kids we get will not be good until they have been in the program for a minimum of three years.

That is what my friend Doug Merrell who was a walk on heard as well. I wish koussai stayed, I liked his ability to block shots and thought he could turn into a solid player for the future. Best of luck to them though.

So in last 2 weeks we have took a point guard on 2 days notice because of loss of Varez and now lose 2 of our best recruits from last year. This is not going to end well. We are spinning our wheels. Anyone that says they can really see this thing getting better after 30 months needs a little help.

I knew somebody had to go, but Kouassi was the last one I would have imagined. That kid will be a force before he is through. However you look at it, this is more of the same for the Auburn BB program - one step forward, then two or three back. I've been a season ticket holder and faithful supporter of the program for over thirty years, but I'm convinced the program is under a hex. We could make a pretty good team out of the players who have left.

Coach Knox was instrumental in getting them to sign with Auburn in the first place. This is an amicable breakup on both ends.
