Kouandjio planning Monday decision

The nation's No. 2 overall prospect plans to announce a decision on Monday.

    Bryan Matthews

  • Ok so what's our odds here Bryan. Anything would be helpful?

    auburnra

  • He must really want to go to Auburn to go thru all this...hope his family will support his decision.

I still consider Auburn the team to beat but it's gonna be close.

  • Well Cyrus, as I think you may be reading these, please know we would welcome you with open arms and show you great respect for having taken your time to decide what is truly best for you. Auburn is a very special place and we would really love to have you as part of the family. War Eagle my friend and follow your heart.

I'm an AUBURN TIGER and LOVE IT!!

    Aubiequiet

  • Would love to have him, but either way we have one hell of a strong class. This thing needs to end one way or the other. Thanks Bryan.

  • I don't see the kid coming to Auburn with all of the family pressure. Obviously the kid really wants to come to Auburn or this would not be a difficult decision.

    Winder

  • With him rapidly approaching adulthood, if in fact his family is controlling his destiny, I don't have a lot of respect for those family members.

My youngest son had always been a War Eagle and talked about going to school there. At the end of his senior year he announced he would like to be closer to home. Somewhat disappointed, I told him he could be successful as a graduate from any college. He went to U of So Alabama but guess what, after a year he transferred to Auburn and graduated from there. Now he's gungho Auburn and has been a season ticket holder since 1995!

    AU1959

  • I was not at first. Now I am becoming a nervous nancy over this!

    ronboeagle

  • Do you announce when choosing same school? Westerman announced because he was changing. I hope I am wrong

  • Redonkulous.

He has had a year, at least, to figure out where he's going. In my experience, if it takes you this long to figure it out, punt. There was obviously something missing on his uat visits. It is the only reason he kept looking, and no one in his family can see that?

I no longer care where he goes. Just get it over with.

I wouldn't wait this long for Raquel Welch in her prime.

Down vote and flame away - but he may not be as smart as he sounds. The accent is nice, though.

  • CYRUS, I HAVE BEEN AND AUBURN FAN FOR THE LAST 50 YEARS OR SO. DURING THAT TIME THERE HAVE BEEN MANY UPS AND DOWNS. DURING THAT TIME AUBURN HAS REMAINED A FAMILY NO MATER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES. AS YOU SIT AND PONDER WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR LIFE JUST KNOW THAT WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU AS PART OF THE FAMILY. BUT IF YOUR HEART IS ELSEWHERE, THEN THAT IS WHERE YOU NEED TO BE. I UNDERSTAND THE LOVE OF FAMILY AND THE STRONG TIES. I RECENTLY LOST MY MOM AND MY FATHER, BUT I STILL HAVE SIX BROTHERS AND SISTERS THAT ARE VERY CLOSE. IT IS HARD TO BREAK FROM FAMILY AT TIMES, BUT SOMETIMES IT IS BEST TO GO OUT ON YOUR ON. IT HELPS YOU MATURE AND BECOME YOUR OWN MAN. SET YOUR OWN PATH AND BE A LEADER FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY. BEST OF LUCK WHEREVER YOU DECIDE TO GO. I HOPE IT IS WITH OUR FAMILY, BUT IF NOT WAR EAGLE AND GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.............

  • Until CK DE-commits, he is ours. He continues to say he is still committed to Auburn. WDE!

'My heart told me to go Auburn..... 'And my brain is starting to kick in right now and I'm trying to have them agree. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to have my brain and my heart agree.''

I read that article as well yesterday. If he truly wants to go to Auburn and his head (ie the pressure from family and UA coaches) is telling him to go to Bama, then I am having this vision of a "re education" camp at UA. I am seeing Cyko and BC strapped to a chair, being forced to watch propaganda film that goes something like this....

13 National Championships, 13 National Championships, 13 National Championships being repeated over and over while they watch film on the Bear walking the sidelines, who then morphs into Spanky telling them that he is the Bear re-incarnated, and that HE IS the game changer and only HE can get you to the NFL...all the while subliminal messages flash across the screen with pictures of Chizik with devil horns and newspaper headlines with the caption: NCAA - Auburn gets the death penalty! and then next, Saban, in a Santa suit says "you can't go to Auburn kid... you'll shoot your eye out"... then the last thing I see in my vision is Cyko and BC in a trance-like state, speaking in slow, monotone voices saying: I - love - bama...roll - tide - roll... rammer - jammer...

I think the pressure is getting to me!! j/k but it is kind of funny to think of it that way!

  • Interesting to watch this unfold. I'm guessing he's been to Alabama several times over the past couple of years. He must have a pretty good idea about what they are all about. Then he visits Auburn and evidently is blown away. If this were my son I think I would advise against Alabama. I'm not saying that because I hate them, trying to be objective here. It just seems that after 2 years or so he would be more sure of Alabama, but for whatever reason, he isn't.

  • Mr. Kouandjio can get a great education ( if he applies himself) and play football at the highest college D-I level with great football programs and tradtion at either Auburn or Alabama. He is in a "win-win" situation that millions of men with dreams of playing football at the next level had. He is a truly blessed young man. He is a 17-year old that the pressure of modern day D-I recruiting madness and family circumstances caused this situation. I actually empathsize with his confusion.

  • I still think it will be low key, calling coaches and faxing his letter. He probably will see a text to a few people that have been reporting on this.

He can not get his major at Uat. Think about that.

  • Bryan, can CK's parents visit AU this weedend, or can AU travel to visit with them at home?

    AUpops

  • Is the dead period over now? Can his parents visit Auburn this weekend? Do you know if it is open if he is planning in homes with coaches?

    All_In_Again

  • Bryan, are you going to be there Monday?

  • If he wants to be an architect, it is a no brainer - AUBURN! He wil get 5-star coaching from a great O-line coach, have a head coach who sets the proper example and has shown he can lead, and he will get a quality Architecture degree he can use after 12 years in the NFL. Doesn't get more attractive than that.

War Eagle Cyrus! Follow your heart and your brain friend!

  • Raquel Welch, in her prime? Not wait? Come on, I would advise anyone to wait on that! WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE PEOPLE! it's all great, did we not just prove we can win a NC without top ten overall talent? Now we have two years of top five talent! THE FUTURE IS SO BRIGHT, WE GOTTA WEAR SHADES!!!
