Kirby Smart: Here's why!

Absolutely! Kirby should be given consideration. The guy is a great Defensive minded coach. I'm ready to return back to the Carlos Dansby and Stanley Mcglover days. It our bread and butter.

I still stand by my choice of Kirby! However, if he isn't the one, I'd take Petrino, as long as he can lock down CBVG as DC!

Stoops? Muschamp? Jimbo? Richt? Chip Kelly? Petersen? Mullen? Petrino? Strong? Gundy?
All coordinators that stepped in and became successful (some more than others) in their first stop.....so history proves that it can be done!

Great point. I think I'd take Van Gorder over Kirby Smart. Matched with a very good OC, and either would be an improvement.

Dye was a head coach a long time before he came to Auburn. I do not want Kirby Smart. In 8 years if we are looking then I might think otherwise, but I don't want saban's boy to hop right across the state when we can hire experienced Head Coaches, not coordinators who fear for their lives on a daily basis because of the angry dwarf.
Besides, have yall forgotten about Brian Vanfreakin Gorder? Give him an offense that has his back as much as he has had our O's back this year and you will throw up in your mouth because you used to want Smart.

I agree that he's a good defensive coach. IMO, too risky to go to a major school for first head coach gig. And I'm not against an "Alabama man", I love Pat Dye!
