***New secondary coach Willie Martinez said things are going great so far at Auburn and he's very comfortable with his new home. He said HC Gene Chizik and the staff are first class. He remembers some great games against Auburn when he was at Georgia.

***Martinez has watched the games from last fall and met with his secondary players. He hasn't drawn too many conclusions and wants to give them an opportunity to show what they can do in spring practice. He said he will be fair with the players but not treat them all the same.

***Martinez said he and DC Brian VanGorder have the same core beliefs, which allows them to work well together. He said BVG was very detailed, an excellent teacher and very consistent. He said there are no gray areas with him. Even though BVG and Martinez have worked together at four other places, Martinez is having to learn a new terminology BVG brought with him from Atlanta Falcons.

***Martinez said he wants DB's that are consistent in preparation, work together, and start fast/finish fast. He said their No. 1 job is not to give up explosive plays. He wants them to have a 1-play at a time mentality.
