I didn't realize the number was that high. I think it was a mix early on and is mostly trolls now. I won't go so far as to say that Bryan, Phillip, or Ron leave negative threads open to get up votes from trolls but I can see where increased traffic stats are good for the advertising department. I will say it doesn't bother me either way though. How pathetic would it be to be a bammer trolling out site in hopes of finding an open thread to vote up or down? That's just sad.
