Understandable that you would feel that way. I still say BVG is a better coach than was displayed this year. His defenses at UGA were always tough. Big LBs. There was more going on there than we really know I'm afraid. If the rumors are accurate that Chizik didn't allow tackling to the ground in practice, there's your answer. You play how you practice.
Ellis Johnson is highly respected in the SEC. I think this was an excellent hire. Personnel might be a near term problem though.

Now Coach Malzahn needs to hire a Strength and Conditioning Coach. These guys need to get stronger asap. I would go after a few Juco DB's or LB's that can play right away too. It's all going to boil down to the players.

obviously i'm not as knowledgeable as PM i strongly believe that exdcBVG didn't have the control he wanted and apparently needed to guide those players properly. He, I believe, even mentioned likes bigger guys on defense our D was too small looked like a mediocre D away from SEC poor in the SEC. THIS TEAM IS GOING TO DO AWESOME THINGS imo

BVG's resume made us all say the same thing last year - even more in fact because he had just been with the Falcons.

I could be wrong but I doubt CGM will be involved in CEJ's defensive scheme (as was a certain HC in CVG's).
IMO, Gus will be driving the Gus Bus down the field while CEJ cranks the Evil Ellis Machine.
WDE, we asked for fast action for a new staff and we got it.
Only problem I see so far is it's going to be a loooooooooooog time before we get to see it on the field. I can wait cause the've got a lot of hard work to do tuning up the engines.
