Phillip, if you were a "fan" who was concerned about Gus being the head guy, would this hire make you feel:
1. No better
2. Somewhat better
3. A whole lot better
4. Fully confident in the direction of the program
By the way, I think Gus is a great hire but I know that some have concerns about the defense.

He could have interviewed at Florida State tomorrow and chose no to. He would have been a top candidate for any DC position thar came open. I don't see how Gus could have done any better.

Now this should "help" solidify defensive recruits. I'd be in the ear of Adams ASAP and reassure Foster, Liner and Lawson they have a swell opportunity here!

Thanks for the quick answer. Your answer is exactly what I thought. Today I had a friend who is a fan of the other side tell me that if Gus hired someone like Ellis Johnson then Auburn would be very hard to deal with in the future. I am excited.

Any word on defensive scheme besides the multiple fronts that CGM alluded to. Or a expansion on the multiple front concept.
