I've seen a lot of chatter on twitter and other places about people wanting JP to get fired. I personally don't think it should, or will, happen. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being "not at all" and 10 being "fire him now," what is your level of frustration with JP. I put it at a 5 for me.
The lack of fundamentals is alarming, but I do like what he's done with our pitching staff. Offensively, he understands the long ball isn't a part of the college game anymore and he's recruiting to build speed. If he can bring in some of the studs in this year's class and keep them from going pro, I think he can do some good things for this program. Improvements to player facilities will help too.
Your thoughts folks?

Can't hit a lick? They are third in the league. South Carolina is eighth. They had 16 hits today. The game has changed. It is completely, entirely different than it was two years ago. Speed and pitching and defense absolutely win. There is no power hitting in college baseball anymore. There are less than half as many home runs hit now as there were before they changed the bats. Fewer doubles and triples, too. I agree that coaching cetainly matters.

TEX no offense, but Auburn can't hit a lick and speed does not win in College baseball. Hitting does. Our hitters don't preform at crunch time and this pitching folds like a deck of cards under the pressure. JP is building towards failure and we are only seeing the early returns. I give it a 10. His exit paperwork should be in his inbox tomorrow AM. It makes me sad that Auburn is a nobody in Baseball. I would offer SCar coach $1million a season today. I promise you Auburn would win a title within 3 years. Coaching matters in baseball when talent is available and Auburn has plenty.
