I did the same thing!
That goal line stand was not AU's typical defense of 2010, which as you said was shreaded alot that year.
Hopefully, this year will be the beginning of goal lines stands becoming the norm ...again!

Fantastic article. We are probably all expecting much better D but showing statistically what is reasonably possible is very exciting. I feel the starting D will be outstanding next season but am worried that lack of depth will hold us back from being great but it will be soon we are back to that AU defense that makes us proud.

I left it at my office, but I also checked to see where a few non-SEC football powers from the 2000s compared. I'll post it on Monday. I added USC, Texas, Ohio State, and Oklahoma to the comparison. If I remember correctly, the only team with higher average rankings for those nine years was Ohio State.
So Auburn not only had the best run of SEC teams over that span, but also better than teams such as USC, Texas, and OU. Pretty impressive.
