An early look at what our offense can do will be the reports during summer when athetes are on their own in strength and conditioning. If it's not happening there, it won't happen on the field in the fall. That's what I read said by Coach Grimes. He doesn't seem to be the casual talker. Count on something he really means when his mouth begins to open.

I seem to recall that the OL had to put some wait back on after Gus took over in 2009. I don't think you have to worry about having skinny linemen in his system.

Me too, but I was also excited this time last year.

Tony Franklin had the linemen slim down, then Coach Malzahn had them beef up. Ziemba and Co. were big old boys. It will be very interesting to see if Auburn's situation of last season was due to lack of talent or lack of coaching. The key will be if the coaches can lead the players in developing a winning attitude. That attitude was lost last season and could be difficult to bring back. I believe that is exactly what Coach Malzahn was thinking with his staff hires. The maturity and old school principles of hard work, stiff discipline, and confidence may be just what this team needs. I have a feeling that we may not see the best athletes on the field, but rather the harder workers.
