College Football News goes back every year and re-evaluates their top 50 players from 4 years ago. I didn't do the math, but their success rate was pitiful. Especially their top 10, 41 through 50 was pretty good. Now I was in business for a long time, if I hired you to do evaluations and you have a 25% success rate you need to start hunting another job. You'd think since the " media" knows so much, they'd know a football player when they saw one. Scout and Rivals do a better job, but not by much. A 5 star should be reserved for top quality athletes who also excel in the classroom and have excellent character, 4 stars should be college ready athletically and academically and so on. I'm as proud as any one in our success in recruiting,, I just wish it was a more exact procedure.

Sad thing is that there is no better way. IRS hard to judge these "men" playing with boys. Some kids are just the biggest and most dominant in their conference or team so they think these kids are awesome. Then they go to a big school and we never hear from them because they think they are the best. I like getting 3 stars, they want to prove everyone wrong and will work for their spot. If they don't get it, the starter had to work to earn it rather than given to them
