I think the offensive tackles are going to come our way. I'm not sure exactly which ones are coming to Auburn, but I know some of them definitely are coming out here.
To me, Eddie Goldman is the prize pick up on defense that's left. We've got the linebackers now with Kwon coming our way too. I think Bush is headed to Auburn as well. Consequently, we need another big guy to plug up the middle. Eddie Goldman would be a great grab for the 2011 class. I think we need another defensive tackle badly. I realize everybody is getting excited about the offensive linemen. Don't get me wrong, I love to see those Hosses coming out to the Plains.
I'm just saying we need some defensive TACKLES pretty badly. We need those gigantic men in the middle that you can't move making it nearly impossible to run up the middle against our defensive line. We're set at defensive end. If there's another position with as much depth as the running back position, I'd have to say it's defensive end. We're stacked with defensive ends and we'll be fine. I don't want to see that Cheetah again though. It's too small and the Power I will just maul the Cheetah every time.

We probably have as many SEC quality defensive tackles on the roster right now as we've had in 25 years. They're just, as a group, the youngest tackles in the conference. Last year, maybe in the history of the conference. Whitaker, Carter, Blackson, Wright and Sigler give you a solid 5, and Niles has a chance if he'll hang around to make it 6. Only other time we've had that many on the roster at the same time in the last 20 years was probably in '03, before we moved Grubbs to TE/OG. All of the guys I just listed have more than enough ability to be successful on the DL in the SEC.
Which is not to say that I don't want a couple more, but Goldman and Nero give you a once in lifetime depth situation where you have 8 kids that can play defensive tackle on the same team, which would just be incredible for Auburn.
