  • Tired of reading about how Petrino doesn't have the character to coach here.
    I like Pat Dye, but let's remember, we went on probation under his leadership and what did we do?????? We put his name on the stadium.
    Sometimes I think we need to lose the "holier than though" attitude.

    Maybe you ought to quit telling us how to think and what to do. Pat Dye did not have a proven track record of being untrustworthy before he was hired at Auburn. If you want to call me "holier than thou" because I think the man who is hired ought to have a little integrity, so be it. I'll wear that proudly. I'll not stand by and say nothing when we are discussing a man like petrino. So, to use your words, "off the soapbox now." As for me, I'll continue to speak in favor of hiring someone who has some integrity.

    Did you like Petrino when he was here as an oc? Do you realize Chizik hired a coach in Trooper Taylor whose reputation is sketchy at best? Taylor tried like heck to get out of here last year. UAB wouldn't even hire him.

    I'm going to have to agree with you... Look at is this way if you want:

    What happened to Rick Pitino at Louisville after he banged a chick in a restaurant and allegedly paid her to have an abortion?
    Nothing... They kept him because he wins games and now nobody cares and people barely remember it.

    What happened to Bellichik after he cheated and video taped another teams practice?
    Nothing... They kept him because he wins games and is a hell of a coach.

    Point being, every single person has character issues on this earth. Nobody's perfect. Petrino wins football games and I for one would like to have him as our coach. Our team needs a hard ass on and off the field.
