I'm calling out our Fan Base!

  • Most on this board probably do not fall into this category, but I was utterly ashamed and embarrassed by the number of Bama fans I saw in the stadium tonight. This was without doubt to most I have ever seen here. Also, there were way too many empty seats in the 4th quarter. Whatever happened to staying in the stands and cheering "It's great to be an Auburn Tiger" after a loss? What side of US did we show the "big time" recruits we had in today? I'm sick with the loss and beat down we took, but I feel even worse over the lack of support for our school, team, and coaches!

  • If the decision was mine, I would have aerial photographs of the stands made. Any seats occupied by someone wearing red outside of the visitor's ticket section would be checked. If those seats belonged to a member of Tigers Unlimited, that TU member would lose the rights to purchase tickets for the next two years. You don't have the loyalty to come to the Alabama game, that's up to you. Sell your tickets? Fine. Sell them to an Auburn person or don't sell them at all.

Unbelievable the bammers in the none visitor seating. Sickening. The Auburn people selling their tickets to the "updykes" should lose the right to buy tickets.

  • The amount of bama fans next to me in the scholarship section was disgusting. The fans on here who complain about recruiting are probably the same ones who sold their tickets to the bammers. Fans play a role in recruiting just as big as the coaches do and tonight's showing was pathetic. There were over 20,000 bammers in the stands. Those of you who sold your tickets to turn a quick profit on some bammers can you really call yourself true Auburn fans??

  • I have never seen that many bammers at JHS, it was awful. I agree that any season ticket holders that would sell there Iron Bowl tickets to an updyke should have their tickets taken away. I was the most disappointed I have ever been in our fans.

  • I will bet the Auburn University ticket office sells seat licences every year to gumps or Gump businesses so they can have a ticket to the Ironbowl when we host it.

I 100% agree, I had a really bad experience with a Bama fan in our section. Loosing to them is bad enought, but putting up with the attitude and lack of class is another thing. Please support AU and either come or sell to Auburn people

I hear what you are saying, but to play devil's advocate, my old lady is a 'bammer' grad and we have season 6 tickets. I paid over $4,000 for my 6 tickets. (A lot of people pay more than that for season tickets.) I invited her dad - who invites us when we play in tuscaloosa. So, 1/3 of my tickets were used by uat fans yesterday.

I work with another 'bammer' who is an Auburn season ticket holder. He has 4 tickets, and his wife is an Auburn fan who doesn't care about football. 3/4 of theirs went to bama fans. He has tickets to the SEC Championship game every year in Atlanta. He gave me a pair to see the Tigers play in 2004 and 2010.

I also know Auburn grads who have season tickets @ Jordan Hare West.

There is some sort of sweetheart deal going on between Auburn and alabama (or sponsors) with regards to the scholarship seating. I know a family that bought single game tickets in the middle of the scholarship seats this year and they were not available for the alabama game, obviously.

So, in addition to folks selling their tickets on the street there are other scenarios that explain what happened. That said, you are entitled to your opinion, but in my opinion, if you pay what we have to pay for game tickets, you have the right to do whatever you want with the tickets you purchase. I couldn't give away a pair of Ole Miss tickets on game day.

If you'd like to start a service that will overpay Auburn fans for their tickets on the secondary market, I'd totally support it.
