Is it really true that Gene told Gus to slow down his offense in 2011, or is that just an urban myth??

Philllip has stated such many, many times. Its why Gus left and took a 500,000 a year pay cut to go to Arkansas State.

Yes he did. Gus was not allowed to run "his" offense so he took the HC at ASU so NO one could tell him what to. Looking back, My heart sank when he left and I had a sickening feeling about this past season. Now, even though we had a disaster of a season, I am glad that he left. His leaving paved the way for his return! WDE
