I got accepted to AU!

I am a long ways away from having the money to go at the present, but if something changes and I can make it, I will start in the fall. Thanks for all of you who prayed for me. It took a lot of hard work, but I half way there.

Good luck and congratulation on your acceptance. Work hard, save that $ and you will make it. Check into all the grants available out there. There are thousands of them. Some only give a few $ so it might take applying to a number of them. You can find out about grants available through AU. War Eagle!

Congrats to the nth degree! Keep your dream and keep working hard for it - it will be worth it! Do like an earlier poster stated regarding grants. You may want to look into student loans, etc. In my day, you can set them up where you pay the interest as you go along and when the time comes, you can then start paying on the principal. You will have to work as hard to find the money as you did to get accepted. But again, its worth it.
Back in my day it was a lot easier getting loans, grants, etc; I don't know how it is now, but I assume you have work a little harder to get them. Remember, this would be easy for you because you seem to understand the work that is required to find the money. Hang in there, it will all work out!

Get your face in front of them as much as possible. There are tons of ways to get through school on your own. The counselors at auburn are great and can lay out a plan that will get you through. A couple of folks tht graduated with me had less means than you I can guarantee you. It is possible, very much so go for it.

Been a member myself since 1979. Tough going in North Shelby County growing up but well worth it.
