I come in peace -- update on AUC poster

  • I know that I am not allowed over here, but I wanted to address you guys so you didn't have to receive third hand information.

Authorities from the poster's home town just called me back with an update. They made it to the poster's house and have spoken with family members. The poster was also home.

Everything is OK at this time and the poster is receiving proper help/care from all involved. This is/was a serious situation and I can not thank you guys enough for the way you handled that specific thread. Probably made a difference.

Again, thanks and keep this man and his family in your prayers.

  • THanks for the update. I thought/hoped it was just a joke (sick as it was), so I am glad people on this board took it seriously enough to help this person. hopefully things turn up for him and his family. I can't image going through something like this.

  • thank you so much for the update! Rivalry means NOOOOOOOOOOOTHING compared to this and couldn't be happier that this person is at home safely and will be getting the help he/she needs!

  • Thanks for the update, I know a lot of people have been concerned.

Honestly, there probably aren't many (if any) football message boards that could make it through a thread of that nature for over three hours with no sarcastic, intensive posts.

I was really proud to see how the members of our board handled it. Very mature, very serious, very concerned.

And Shannon....why aren't you "allowed" to be over here? We don't (always) hold your roots against you. cheers

Thanks for the update, and come back anytime.

Agree on all points. Including posting sports opinions once in a while.

This was and will always be more important than sports.

best news I've heard today. lift that troubled family up in thought and prayer. I think it's honestly safe to say the AUC family lifted him up in deed today. You know, I've found a few times in my life that the absolute and total random kind acts of strangers turn out to not be so very random. I've had a couple of times in my own life where a tiny act, at just the right time allowed me to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Never, EVER underestimate what it is to help carry another's burden. Sometimes it's just then, that someone would have given up or given in...

proud to share this board with some honestly decent people who take the time to care about someone just because they hurt and need.

  • I believe I missed the entire thread that is the subject of these posts.

Something about someone back at home safe and getting the help he/she needs?

What was this all about (briefly, please)?

  • Glad he's ohk, as the first one to see the thread in the middle of the night and then his lack of response I was fearing the worst. Can you imagine what it was like to see that at 4 a.m with no immediate recourse available? It was a very impotent, helpless feeling.
