You make some good points. At the end of the day, if nothing else comes out, all Cecil did was make a mistake in a moment of weakness. I've done it and so have many others. Hopefully this is well on it's way to being over.
"If you can't put your faith in an Auburn man, who can you put your faith in?"
I have made more than my fair share of mistakes. Some public and most private. This is a true statement. I have twin soon to be 21y/o daughters, a soon to be 19y/o son, and an 8y/o daughter. I am nothing like Cecil Newton in the fact that I have never put any of my children at risk because of my greed or ignorance. Me yes, my children, never! So no. I am not like Cecil Newton and I am quite proud that I am not! War Eagle!!
Let there be no doubt, I am indeed a proud Pop!! War Eagle!!
Thanks for the Echo...you have basically replayed what I've been saying since shortly after the story came into full view. I have mixed feelings about the BCSCG appearance though.
He did not serve as a distraction for the cameras so maybe "no harm, no foul". I also see jmj120's view though. If he gave his word to JJ then he should have kept it...
WDE AUNC looking for #3
I fully expect Cecil to put out a book in the next year explaining what happened in detail. In it I'm sure he will say that he made a mistake in a moment of weakness and what hurts the most is that it affected his son. I bet it becomes a best seller.
Malzahn approves of NOW Boot Camp! Well...not really...but he would if he knew about it :) www.nowbootcamp.com
The Newton's money problems are over unless they blow it all.

Grammar: The difference between knowing your sh*t and knowing you're sh*t.
I've always thought there was more to the story then the media was putting out there. If this had been an Alabama player, he would have gotten the benefit of the doubt and Kenny Rogers would have been the one drug through the mud and shown in the most unfavorable light as the guilty party. Mississippi State started this, it was Miss State alumni involved in the pay for play scheme and the ones who allegedly turned Cecil in, although I'm still not real convinced that Auburn and Cecil were not the ones who turned this over the the NCAA first, so why has Miss State only received a glancing mention and Kenny Rogers might as well not have been in the picture, his name never comes up. I still say this is being fueled by someone with a bigger agenda and a much deeper pocket than Evans and his loser journalists (does REC come to mind??). This case should be continuing as the media likes to bring up, but with the target aimed straight at Miss State this time and I think it is only a matter of time that they receive a letter of inquiry as to why they continued to recruit Cam after they knew of the pay for play scheme.
I love Cam Newton to my heart. He has handled all of this with grace and maturity beyond his years. God be blessen, devil be messen. I love it. Cecil Newton is a whole different story. When all the outcry was Why want he make a statement and defend Cam, he could not because HE was at the center and the cause of all this crap. We do not know exactly what part he played in all of this but we do know he played a part. GUILTY! Black, Preacher, poor, misguided and what ever else you want to label him with, HE is Guilty of trying to profit off of his son. This is WRONG. No matter how you slice it. The man is a POS as far as I am concerned. I have always known that when I was growing up and till this day my parents had my back. My children know the same is true for them. This is how it is supposed to work. I do not want to hear lapse in judgement, taken advantage of, did not mean to hurt his son or any of the other BS! He is wrong and needs to be held accountable. War Eagle!!!
