Hypothetical: According to a trolling poster..

  • he heard from Samford Hall that CGC stays another year and new assistant coaches will be hired...if, and this is a big IF, that happened the fans and a lot of the BoT would go crazy and J-H would be half-full.

    Plus, CGC would do the same to new assistants that he has done with these. He would micro-manage them and we would not win a game. Also, why would any assistant coach under CGC after this year. You know that assistant coaches talk and the word has to be out the CGC is OCD and would not let new coordinators do their jobs.

  • I just don't believe at this point it's in Auburn's best interest to retain Chizik because of the issue of selling out an 87,000+ seat stadium next year. That revenue is ultra important to the Athletic Program not just football.

    He said there would be a search committee to hire new assistants. That right there shows the lack of validity to his claim. Tell me one time any school has ever formed a search committee to hire assistant coaches.

    I agree. I just can't see any scenario play out that Chizik is retained. What good would it do to just delay the inevitable?

    Now, if the university will go ahead and pull the trigger on Jacobs and move him out of the AD spot and go ahead and get their guy in there so he can start getting his stuff together to make a move fast. There will be a lot of big schools with deep pockets looking to make a move on a new coach after this year. We need to be out in front of them.
