Hurricane Isaac robs Texas A&M of national title.

  • I really think that if the Aggies first game of the season had not been delayed, they'd be playing Notre Dame Monday night.

Had they played Louisiana Tech to start the year, there's a decent chance they would have beaten Florida the next week. Instead, they played Florida for game number one in a new offense with a new staff and a first year QB, and still almost won.

Had they beaten Florida, they would have been 11-1 and likely would have gone to the SEC title game after beating No. 1 Alabama. The way they have been playing, they likely would have beaten Georgia (soundly) and been 12-1 SEC champs.

They have the offense and defense playing really, really well right now. Could have been the 5th SEC team to win it all in the current streak.

Yep...a lot of "maybe" and "possibly" found in that scenario...but if you're the Aggies, you have to wonder what might have been.

Never even thought about that. I believe you're right. IMO.

Great minds think alike... I've been saying the same thing since they beat Bama. If they had LaTech to warm up on (even though they only beat them by 2 points when they did play, 59-57) then they would have beaten Florida, and knowing how the season played out, would have played UGA in the SEC title game and ran up and down the field on them and beaten ND to be champs. That's my opinion until proven otherwise. The dismantling, with ease, of OK tonight along with all of their games from when they beat us on make it easy to see they are the best team in college football right now. No, they don't have the best defense, but NOBODY has completely stopped their offense aside from the second half of the Florida game. LSU just slowed them down enough to get the last punch... It's a shame that Bama is the luckiest team in college football, past and present.

Absolutely! I believe they were the best team in the nation at the end of the season and if they had found their sea legs earlier, they would be in Miami. they are my pre-season fav to play for the NC next year.

  • Like others I never thought about that, but you got something there.
Watching Manziel play last night,(and also the rest of the A&M squad) was a thing of beauty.
It's not often you see OU get the type of thrashing that they're famous for handing out, (especially when Switzer was there)...Manziel and company just ate their lunch!

Against LSU they had their chances - I think they missed several field goals that made the difference in the game. True also about circumstances involving the Florida game.

The Orange and Sugar Bowls should be embarrassed. The Cotton Bowl, a non-BCS game, out sold them. But, which of these three games are the most attractive: FSU-NIU, UF-UL, or aTm-OU? Duh.

Interesting item from "out there": I purchased my wife an I-Pad 4 for her birthday. It's one of them that you say what you want and it gives you information. When you say "Auburn Football" it gives you the 2012 results (don't remind me). However, it only gives the results against BCS teams. I concluded that Apple must be after my own heart (and $$ too) because I feel the same way. Give me 12 BCS teams any day.

Season ticket holders: Look at home tickets we will receive this year- Ole Miss, MSU, UGA, uat, WSU, ASU, FAU, and WCU. Getting the UGA and uat tickets are worth the cost. Ole Miss and MSU are SEC teams so they're suppose to be on our schedule. Washington State is a 12 PAC team and a worthy enough team to play. Arkansas State - Malzahn's old team and is a non-BCS conference champion - but is the credit for beating them as significant as the fallout if you lose to them? Florida Atlantic - A road game against them offers better entertainment to most AU fans. Western Carolina - North Carolina, North Carolina State or South Carolina would draw more interest.

2014 home schedule? Do you think we can get uat at home again in 2014 like we did UGA in 2012 and 2013? That's feat has a greater possibility than SEC refs calling holding against their OL.
