I got my BSEE from Auburn in 1995. I recently got my Ph.D. in physics from Tennessee in 2011.

Just like someone already said. Stay focused! This is your job, and you should treat it as such. Assuming that you're smart enough, the real key is just hard work. Start on all of your homework as soon as you get it. Find other (good) students and pair up with them when doing homework. Talk to each other and explain your understanding of the material to each other.

BTW, I was a much, much better student when studying physics than when doing by BS. Maturity counts for a lot.

Congrats on returning to get your engineering degree. It takes courage and commitment to do that after ten years away from school and trying to feed and raise two children. I can absolutely assure you, based on my experience, that you won't regret it. I'm a IM/IE '64 and after spending 35 years at the Boeing Company primarily in engineering research and development of space hardware ( Saturn V, LRV, MVM'73, Space Station) as a senior executive. Had lots of fun doing it while making more money than I ever dreamed possible at the time. By the way, don't be afraid to take Cal 2 and physics at the same time. You need to find out what you're made of!

E-Day was when I made my mind up to go to Auburn! I have found that being an Auburn Engineer has helped me throughout my career. I also met my wife in an engineering class! Great to be an Auburn Engineer!
