After a closer examination, Auburn has faced some very solid defenses and put up good offensive numbers. The defense, on the other hand, hasn't produced quite as wide a gap in the numbers, except for one category: points.
Defeat doesn't finish a man - quit does. A man is not finished when he's defeated. He's finished when he quits. - Richard Nixon
Cool read. Offense has some good signs. Defense is mostly poop. Scoring D is semi-okay though.
Always love looking at these numbers. But early on, it's hard to know what most really mean without breaking it down according to who they played.
For example, if you take look at Mississippi State's offense against BCS programs, their average drops from 464 yards per game down to 374 yards per game (415 against us). If you take off Arkansas State's games against Troy and Arkansas Pine-Bluff, their rushing average drops from 215 yards per game down to 114 yards per game (150 against us).
I always figure until we get to at least 3 conference games factored in with 3 non-conference games, it's hard to tell what stats really mean.
