If Auburn's basketball team (9-16, 3-9) is to avoid playing on the first day of the expanded SEC Tournament, a win tonight is almost a month. The Tigers are a slight favorite over the Aggies.

Leading scorer Frankie Sullivan, who has come off the bench the past two games, is back in the lineup.

FIRST HALF

* Jordan Price hits a 3 and Auburn leads 7-0 with 16 minutes left.

* Texas A&M is 0-for-10 from the field.

* Chris Denson goes to the basket and Elston Turner answers with a foul. Texas A&M was 0-for-14 before Turner's shot. Auburn leads 12-3 with 13:51 left. A&M went 6:09 before scoring.

* Shaq Johnson hits a 3-0 to break a 5-0 A&M run. Auburn leads 15-5 with 12:06 left.

* Auburn leads 15-7 at the media timeout with 11:17 left.

* A&M creeping back into it. Auburn leads 17-12 with 8:10 left.

* Elston Turner hits a 3 with 7:58 left. Auburn, once leading 12-0, has seen its lead dwindle to 17-15.

* Jordan Price hits a free throw and Auburn leads 22-18 with 4:20 left.

* Caruso steal and drive and A&M leads 23-22 with 2:50 left.

* Chubb hits a 15-footer and Auburn back up 24-23 inside two minutes.

SECOND HALF

* This isn't the smoothest game ever, but Auburn leads 42-41 with 11:16 left. For this Auburn team, any kind of win will be welcomed. Looks like it'll be decided late.

* Turner hits a 3 and A&M is up 48-42 with 10:01 left. Dangerous time for the Tigers.

* Price hits a 3 on a pass from Sullivan. A&M leads 40-47 with 6:36 left. Auburn is 5-of-20 from the field in the second half.

* Allen Payne hits two free throws and Auburn trails just 55-53 with 3:16 left.

* A&M answers after a Sullivan turnover. Denson makes one of two and A&M leads 57-54 with 1:40 left.

* It's starting to look like another lost night in a lost season for Auburn. A&M leads 59-54 inside the final minute.
