The fan base is aching for a home run hire this time around. We have had hires that have turned out well in the past, but none that were ever considered home runs at the time we did it. The program is a mess, and we all know it. We do not neeed to take a risk on a second tier coach or a coordinator who we have no idea whether they can run a full program. I am not advocating anyone in particular, we just need a proven head coach that knows how to run a tight ship, develop talent and put a competetive product on the field. We need to find this person and trust him enough to give him control to run the program his way. We shall see. I suspect a lot of wallets will open or close based upon the outcome of this mess.
