Here's what I have been told

  • Guys our staff feel good about (read 51% +):

    Darby
    Jaquay Williams
    Ricardo Louis
    Avery Young
    Will Adams

Guys our staff feel could go either way (read 35-50% chance)

    Goldman
    Leonard Williams
    Diggs

Guys we'll probably miss on (read 34% or less)

    Kwon Alexander
    Patterson
    Diamond
    Benequez Brown

That means our class will probably look something like this:

QB--Zeke Pike (only need one starter every other year--he could develop or be a back up)
RB--Jovon Robinson - will be able to contribute. Is as can't miss as can be. Has the tools to develop into a good back
FB--All American Prosch - we know he'll be able to contribute
WR--Jaquay, Ricardo, and Diggs - only 1 has to become a star. Gotta like the chances for all three to contribute
TE--Ricky Parks -- Will be a star. Mark it down
OL--Avery Young, Pat Miller, Shane Callahan, Robert Leff, Will Adams -- If only 2 of the 5 become starters, that's all you need to be successful. In this group, you've got 4 guys that can play inside or out and Will Adams who could develop into a monster outside. Adams, Leff and Callahan will need time to develop, but Miller and Young could play from day one if needed. This staff has done a tremendous job stockpiling assets on the OL.
DL--Nero, President and possibly Goldman -- Goldman would play from day one. Nero won't be rushed as we signed plenty of tackles last year that the coaches feel good about.
LB--Mitchell and McKinzy-- both could develop into very nice players. Neither will be rushed
DB--Darby, Davis, Jones and Holsey -- Darby and Holsey could play from day 1. Davis and Jones could develop.

That's 20 players (the staff will probably look at 2 more guys if things work out)

Of that 20, 15 have the opportunity to develop into all-sec guys. There are no reaches in this class so far. Be thankful for the quality of the guys on board and don't stress about who hits or misses the next few days.

Can't forget Darrion Hutcherson at tight end. I think he is kind of a sleeper in this class. 6'7 and good hands could be a huge asset for us, especially in the red zone. With Parks speed and Hutcherson size, could be an awesome 1 - 2 punch

  • Only have two questions/rebuttals on you predictions. Didn’t notice Jordan Moore and I believe he would fall in that 51% category. I still believe we can pull in Kwon. Was looking at LSU and they currently have verbal’s from 7 LB’s, all of them OLB except one. Just my two cents.

Exactly... imagine if we could get results out of hutcherson like the saints have with jimmy graham, and maybe similar results to vernon davis or antonio gates ( maybe a stretch because vernon is very fast) but still... if atleast similar to vernon we would give any team serious mismatch problems with both of those guys.

I love the idea of him one on one with a LB over the middle, it makes me all giddy inside. Then you have parks who can run with DB at 6'4. I do believe our coaches have done an excellent job recruiting TE talent the past few years and this one could be there best yet
