Headset ? for PM

    I have no way of knowing if it was legit or not, but shortly after they complained they said the headsets were working again. The home team provides the headsets. If one set isn't working, then both sides have to take them off.

  • As someone who worked with the team as a manager and a brother that spent 3 years in the booth as a manager overseeing the headsets, there is absolutely no way we were receiving their headset signal. The home team provides the lines that connect to the headset boxes from the booth to the field. If someone was going to tamper, that is the only way to do it. That is one of the funniest things I've heard. Headsets do go down, and for a short period of time. They went down on my brother during the Vandy / Auburn game in Nashville in 2003, and we forced Vandy to take their headsets off for a short period of time.

  • How do explain them waiting to report anything until cam committed to auburn? The time line is a mess in regards to msu.

  • I believe Mullen spoke on the headset issue. I can't remember exactly what he said but something to the effect that the headsets were making a screaching noise and you could barely have them on. He told the ref and asked the ref if he would like to hear it. The ref declined (This is what mullen says happened), the ref then told them to keep checking to see if the sound went away. Mullen says the ref went over to Chiz and told them and then one of his coaches went and checked if the headsets were up and running yet. Chiz saw it and let the ref know the ref came over and told the MSU coaches that they couldn't do that and Mullen said ok but you told us to check it... It went something like that. I will link it if I can find it.
