Auburn hitting coach Gabe Gross 2/2/13
I hope Gabe's lessons translates to even better and timely hitting this season. I'm glad he is part of the coaching staff.
Auburn was really close in a lot of important games last year. They were literally just a timely hit and one more starting pitcher from being in the top 5 of the league on many weekends.
Gabe will enjoy his work there in Auburn. He may be the head coach one day.
Attitude is Everything
"Gross inherits an experienced lineup. Tella hit .360 last season. Left fielder Cullen Wacker hit .350, Cooper hit .324 and shortstop Dan Glevenyak hit .319. Catcher Blake Austin hit .296. "
Based on attending games for a few seasons and observing the change in bats the last two years, I would say that the above averages last year compare very well to Gabe's average with a different bat. I am not trying to take away from Gabe's experience and what he is teaching. I am just trying to point out that the change in bats has reduced the hitting and scoring. So with these guys in the line up we should expect a good offense. We need a lot of improvement on defensive especially up the middle.
As a Cubs fan I got to watch him WGN playing against my Cubs for a team (Brewers) I despised but had I had to root for him and he was one of those players that wasn't flashy or had a big name but won the game on multiple occasions, WDE
I'm with you fellers, War Eagle!!!!!!!!
Maybe now we can compete well in the SEC, win the SEC tournament, and make it to the World Series!! Is this too much to ask??
Two of the reasons why Auburn has done poorly in SEC play since Sept. last year. Baseball and football. Two of the reasons why Auburn will do better from now on? Baseball and football.
