My posts go in spurts. Lately, because I am so busy, I haven't had the time to chime in on a lot of things. After reviewing a couple of posts however, I needed to stop working to ask the board a serious question: why is anyone so concerned with an article getting up votes or down votes?
Some points to consider for those thoughtful enough to consider points:
- If you look at the amount of article views versus the number of up-votes given to the average post, it is on typically under 10%, and sometimes far less. So for every upvote you get, 50 people are reading it and not commenting either way. The votes aren't always a complete accurate reflection of how everyone feels, just people who felt strong enough to click an icon.
- Why would you be shocked that Alabama fans up-vote when an Auburn commit chooses to go elsewhere? If a thread Bryan produces has 400 upvotes, you should be happy - there are a million more bama fans that would express the same feeling. We are rivals, correct? Do you just want to pretend everyone likes us and wants what is best for our school?
- When you stop caring whether everyone agrees with you or likes you, life will get a lot better. You should only be concerned about speaking and believing the truth of a matter, regardless of who up-votes or down-votes you.
That being said, I would like to see copious amounts of up-votes on my thread, or i will kill a kitten.
