Last night a great Auburn man, my father-in-law, Charles Collins went to be with the Lord. He was struck and killed by a car in Symrna, GA.
Charles played at Auburn 64-68. He went on to play one year with the Cowboys and 8 seasons in the CFL. He then became the Head Coach at McEchearn High School in Cobb County GA. After coaching, Charles joined the staff of Athletes in Action and served as the Chaplain for the Atlanta Falcons for over 20 years. His impact on others was huge!
This man loved Auburn. All of his children attended Auburn. Both Son-in-laws attended Auburn. He sported an Auburn cap almost everyday of his life. We will miss him!
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Sorry to hear about your loss, but another soul is home.

If you have to ask why I love Auburn so much...never mind
Charles was indeed a great Auburn man. Not only that, he was a great man in every phase of his life. A fine role model to all those that met him, young and old alike. My prayers are with his family, and may God comfort all of you in this time of grief.
I am very sorry for your loss, my prayers go out to you and the family. FWIW, I just lost my dad about 13 days ago and he is there waiting on your father in law with his AU hat on. The Auburn men are resting easy now with the good Lord. My sincere condolences to your family.
