Here is a statement issued by Georgia head coach Mark Richt after Rodney Garner resigned to join Gus Malzahn's Auburn staff:

³I want to thank Rodney for 15 years of loyal service to UGA. He was the first assistant I hired when I came to Georgia and it turned out to be a great decision. He¹s a tremendous ball coach, recruiter, and mentor and great example of what a good father and husband should be. He¹s been a blessing to my life as well as to UGA. We wish him and Kim all the best."

Coach Richt is a class act! If you ever saw the ESPN special on him & his wife and the kids they adopted from one of the old " Iron Curtain " countries and how much they went through to get them & how they love & adore those children, it would give you a new-found respect for the man. It certainly did me and I will never say anything bad about him. Living here in GA I don't care much for the dawgs (except when they play the Updykes) but I sure like CMR.

Very classy, somewhat changes my attitude towards ugga. Now I only want to beat them by 35 points instead of 52.

This doesn't change my opinion toward Uga one bit. I might respect Richt more, but after having to put up with their fans for 13 of my formative years and putting up with them on a daily basis next year (hopefully, because I'll have a job), I'll not be changing my tune with regards to the mutts.

Performance stands out like a ton of diamonds. Nonperformance can always be explained away.

Think you misunderstood my post. I can't stand the mangy dawgs

I've always liked Coach Richt, but bless his heart, he still has time management issues.

Amen. They botched the clock in the SECCG and I would still be pissed if I where a uga fan.

  • Richt gets the bigger picture, & fully understands Rodney coming home! Stay grounded Coach Richt!
