***Chizik said he was very pleased with Thursday's practice and it was a very energetic day.
"Today was a great learning day," Chizik said. "...I feel like it was two days of productive work."
***Chizik said OL John Sullen was a "little nicked up" and was riding the bike Thursday. He said Sullen will be fine.
***Chizik said they will go in shells the next two days and have much more physical practices.
"That will be two important days of evaluation for us," Chizik said.
***Chizik said he loves how RB Corey Grant works. He said they're trying to find where he fits and his best role on offense and/or special teams.
***Chizik said there's still a lot of question marks at RB. He said they're also trying to determine the best role for Mike Blakely and the other guys other than Onterio McCalebb -- they know what he can do.
***Chizik said Alex Kozan and Jordan Diamond are both getting looks at offensive guard but none of the freshmen are locked into a position yet.
***Chizik said freshman WR Ricardo Louis is capable, skill-wise, of playing this fall. It's just a matter of how fast he picks up the offense.
***Chizik called Shon Coleman a "work in progress" as he returns to playing football after a long layoff but he's not ruling Coleman out of competing for a starting job.
