***Chizik started his press conference talking about another great challenge (and opportunity) Auburn faces this week against Vanderbilt. He said Vandy plays really hard on both sides of the ball.

***Chizik said his team continues to have the goal of staying positive and working to improve.

***Chizik said keeping the morale up involves having a lot of leadership and an "unbending" approach to how he runs the football program. He said it's their job as coaches to lead young men through tough times.

***Chizik said there's nothing that compounds the frustration of the team more than losing. Chizik said there are glaring moments in a game where plays have to be made and their not being made. He mentioned overthrown passes and penalties against Ole Miss as examples of execution issues that keep showing up.

***Chizik said they will look at the health of Kiehl Frazier at Tuesday's practice before naming a starting quarterback.

***Chizik said they will look at more young guys on defense this week. He mentioned Jonathan Jones and Joshua Holsey as starters last week saying, "There will be more guys like that."

***Chizik said Dee Ford, Chris Davis and Reese Dismukes are "day-by-day" right now.

***Chizik said the players have to be strong enough to block out the positives when others tell them how good they are and the negatives when others tell them how bad their playing. Chizik said he doesn't get influenced by what he hears from the outside. He teaches the same thing to his players but can't control how they deal with it once they leave the athletic complex.

***Chizik said Coach Dye was a tremendous football coach and he has a lot of respect for Coach Dye. He said he doesn't have the time to deliberate with Dye or any others in regards to their current opinions of the program. He said worrying about what outsiders are saying about the program are a distraction and he can't spend his time worrying about it.

***Chizik said finding an identity on offense has been a struggle. He didn't set a timeline for how long it would take but he's not OK with where they are on offense.

***Chizik said they can all get better at what they do -- players and coaches -- including himself.

***Chizik said they feel very comfortable giving Tre Mason the football.
