If you can't open it, it's an article out of Oklahoma with a picture of Saban having a face-face conversation with Barry Sanders Jr. which is a violation of NCAA rules

  • Yeah i am pretty sure this was even stated in a cbs sports article.....itll be interesting to see what happens.

  • Nothing will happen despite the fact that it is a violation and they're on probation, It will be one of those secondary violations where nothing substantial is done.

  • Saban was at my daughter's high school yesterday recruiting Travis Blanks. My daughter was sitting in the breazeway next to the gym with some her buddies and saw him go by and told her buddies loud enough for him to hear "there goes Lord Farquaad but my Dad said his friends call him Spanky"

When she told me about that it absolutely made my day. roflmao

  • Actually the people at Okla and Ok State will push this. They want Jr. to stay home.

  • All I know is, if this kid is even half as good as his father then somebody is gonna get a stud. I wonder if we are recruiting him??

thanks, tiger24. There's an older kid that is on her school softball team that is a big bama fan that she said that to, and lo and behold she gets to do it again in front of the man himself.

BTW, I had read the Lord Farquaad reference to Saban on here some time ago and told my daughter about it. She thought it was the funniest thing. Most of these kids don't realize how short he is.

“I think it hurts the players when you start suspending coaches, so I’m not sure I’m in agreement,” Saban said. “But I’m not sure that I have a solution, because we do respect the rules and we do want everybody to abide by the rules. If this punishment is what’s going to change someone’s behavior, then I think it’s good. But if it’s not going to change anybody’s behavior, then I don’t really think it’s good.”

    Hey Spanky listen up!

    1) Nobody asked for your blessings on whether or not it hurts the player if the coach gets suspended.

    2) Nobody asked for your opinion on a solution.

    3) You've repeatedly broken the rule! It has your name on it for crying out loud!

    4) It obviously hasn't affected your behavior one little bit and I'm sure you really don't think it's a good idea!

Get your head out of your backside and face the reality that you can only act this way when you're among the hoards of Wal-Mart poster children! Geez.......
