    Ya know, I see several mention TJ. For some reason I'm now thinking not so terribly toward him. Maybe we all were tooled, dissed, fooled by him & lil nicky.     I honestly don't fault TJ for going to bama, it's just that he waited until the last second to change his mind. Even then, I really don't fault him. He went to bama to win championships and to have a shot at the Heisman. Right now that's a lot easier to do at bama obviously. Hard for a kid to say no to National Titles at will, why do you think they get basically any recruit they want?

    Again, it sucks we lost out on TJ because he really is going to be a special player, but I don't fault an 18 year old for being persuaded/manipulated by a bunch of grown men.

  • We need this kid because he is a great prospect. We have to recruit him hard. I believe every word he is saying now and I think he is sincere because he is getting a lot of love from Auburn and not so much from Alabama just now. With all due respect to Bryan, I have been watching recruiting in this state longer than he has. It is not some conspiracy - it is just a fact -if the updykes come after this kid, he will feel pressure toward the end that he can't even imagine right now - especially living in Oxford, Alabama. I don't think he is a secret commit to uat, but this situation is set up to end very much like Yeldon. But if that happens, I just hope this kid and his family have enough integrity to be honest with Auburn and not pull another Yeldon which really was disgraceful. Keeping the pressure off is not a justifiable reason to lie to people who have been good to you.

  • So people know for a fact Yeldon changed his mind just a few days before he flipped? People know for a fact that he didn't have a secret pact with Saban before he flipped? I'm not saying he did, but to say someone knows for a fact that he didn't is a stretch. This is just a discussion, is this not allowed without calling out little brother syndrome? It's a simple discussion, not secret foreign policy. I guess Alabama has never cheated And I should quit thinking such foolish, little brother thoughts? They wouldn't do anything underhanded especially towards Auburn? Yes Bryan, flipping is recruiting, I know all about it, but lying thru your teeth just for the amusement of your coach, is about as low as Troop responding the way he did. It's different than recruiting someone hard and them changing their mind, IMO.

They have stolen 1, count it, 1 recruit from us since Saban has been there and the other three have been guys that WE ALMOST STOLE FOM THEM, but eventually chose to stick with their original commitments. Personally, with hindsight, I am so glad we didn’t get those guys because we probably would have won a few more games last year with Brent, Cyrus and T.J. and we wouldn’t have Gus as our head coach now. Gus will get great running backs for his system. Michael Dyer was a better running back than they have had at UA (other than Richardson) since I can remember, and we almost got Lattimore in 2010 as well. It will not be long until we are pulling a top 5 back every year; be patient. Our system is more fun for them and they, statistically speaking, look much better on paper when their career is done, and they probably have a little less mileage on their bodies because they aren’t running b/w the tackles every down. Oh, and IMHO, we will be winning championships so the one thing they have on us right now will not be an advantage in 3-4 years.

    That's BS! Yeldon screwed Auburn. He didn't just just decide that he wanted to go to another school. That would be just fine. his choice, his life. Instead He played Auburn till the last minute(the dead period). "Tell the Auburn fans War Eagle" was in November after his Alabama visit. Next thing you know December hits and "saban says that I can win a Heismen at Alabama so I'm going there". Leaving Auburn, who believed they had their running backs and for months had cut ties with other prospects, left holding the bag and no one that would listen late in the process. Yeldon knew that Auburn had stopped recruiting backs and knew the position he would leave Auburn.

    Screw him, I hope he gets hurt and never plays again. Fry me, down vote me. I don't give a $#%&. That guy did it the wrong way and I have absolutely no respect for him at all.

    Ever occur to you that this particular decision might have been a really hard one and that maybe he just had to make a last minute final decision? Occam's razor......

    But no, I'm sure Yeldon had the evil genius plan to intentionally screw Auburn.

  • It's recruiting folks ! I honestly think some folks aren't happy unless they have something to be sad about. I'm glad when we flip guys like Daniel , and I'm not when have other guys flip from us to other schools. I remember the ones we get and I forget about those we don't.

  • CGM is a players coach. They seem to like him, but they also know he will work their butt off too. I too am leary of a commitment from that area of the state -- seems to be fairly locked to the bad guys -- BUT, its a new day and CGM is doing an amazing job. I would be thrilled to see Roc come to AU.
