The Bodda Getta

One of my childhood neighbors (we're from Colorado) went to UAT. Actually, it was because of him that I ended up at Auburn years ago (at the time, out of state tuition in Alabama was cheaper than in-state in Colorado).

He and a couple of partners opened a Moe's Barbque on Magnolia last night, just down from Toomer's Drugs. Some of the company founders were in from Vail, and have been here all week. They, also, went to UAT.

The opening last night was unannounced yet the place was slammed. They have two trees inside that look as if they are growing out of the ground and holding the roof up. There is a garage door that opens onto Magnolia, flat screens all over, and great food. This place will do well.

As I talked with the corporate guys they all said the same thing -- they were blown away by how friendly everyone in Auburn is. They also feel the Auburn location could end up being the most successful franchise in the company.

By the time we left these Bama guys were yelling War Eagle and actually sounding like they meant it.

As John told me earlier, "there is no Roll Tide in making money."

Visit Moe's Barbque next time you're here. The food and atmosphere are a welcome addition to downtown Auburn.
