  • Title says it all and I hope people don’t consider me a “torll”, as some newbies get tagged as. Before anyone asks, I am not an Auburn grad and was born in Chicago and the key word is born. I was raised in Walker County (Carbon Hill) and I adopted Auburn as my team (Current resident of Colorado and glad to see us with a local enrollee and possibly another). Makes me wish I would have gone to some games now. With that said, not all Auburn fans are born Auburn fans. Some of us just inherit them and I am proud to be an Auburn Tiger. The only thread I will comment on (can’t recall the exact thread) now is the one dealing with who we should focus on. I’m a BIG TIME believer in recruiting from home. With that said, we need to get Kwon. If you can’t stay loyal to your home state I feel you lose creditability outside the state. Show that loyalty and the rest of the chips will fall in place. Just my opinion so down vote me if you want.

Other than that, BM and PM, thanks for the few free threads that pushed me into wanting additional access the great nation of Auburn UnderCover.

  • I also welcome you aboard. Most of us don't see everyone new as a Troll, though not every new member makes crazy accusations or promotes some supposed inside information. As for your observation, I thought it was dead on.

Of course, I'm one of those who would rather have a 2 or 3* who really wants to come to Auburn and is willing to play his heart out, than a 5* prima donna who is just biding time before he's eligible for the NFL Draft. Sen'Derrick Marks was a prime example of someone who really wanted to play for Auburn, and though he was a 4*, Kodi is another example. In contrast, how many highly recruited HS stars have come and accomplished little or been discipline problems from the beginning. Before Saban came and gave the bammers a so-called 'recruiting championship' the emphasis was more on finding players who filled needs than on having the highest ranked recruiting class, and I think that competition has escalated the rivalry as well as opened the door for potential abuses.

  • Welcome aboard. Colorado is beautiful. I'm looking forward to getting back soon. I was out there in August visiting with some Colorado and Broncos coaches. Really enjoyed it.

  • Thanks Ron and the next time you are in state give me a post (maybe the wife will let me out of the house). As for what vh-tiger stated on his post and forgive me for going to and fro (I’m still getting caught up) on his Kodi Burns ref and I believe this goes with another thread dealing with your favorite Tiger, Kodi is right up there in my eyes. To except the role he did and the speech he gave the team, that my friend is the true definition of "All In". Wish nothing but the best for an individual who, in my humble opinion, not only states it but does it. A true team player.

Forgive me with all the "beer refs" but we have many of local breweries in Colorado. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to have a mason jar of shine on those special occasions. Once again, thanks for the hospitality of those who are still on-line and here is to a strong finish in recruiting this next six days.

  • Welcome PPEagle!
Have you ever tried Front Range BBQ? I was at a meeting last year and we ended going to this BBQ place. Imagine my surprise when ordering I recognized a big ole picture of JHS! Unfortunately the owner was not around to exchange War Eagles! Good BBQ!

Do or Do Not, There is no try!!

    AUWoody

  • I've heard they have good BBQ but I'm close to a place called Bird Dog. In that last few months I have found another called Colorado Smokehouse. Outstanding greens with chunks of brisket but the other sides appear as if they come from Wal-Mart but I don't go there to get tater salad (wife does a better), I want the brisket. Can I assume you (RocketEagle) is a mil guy (AD, prior, ret) or contractor?

    PikesEagle

  • You pegged me-R & D contractor. I am writing a BAA proposal for the Army while I am here!
    You?

  • AUWoody, I'll get back with you. I don't ski so don't want to steer you in the wrong direction.

REagle, retired AF (21.5 yrs) and work in the Springs. The normal person in the area is either a tourist or associated with the miltary. The sad thing is if we do the old seven degrees we may know each other, unless you deal with the Carson folks. Either way, with you being R&D I wish I had your pay check. HAHA

    PikesEagle

  • But if you calculate the $/hour that I work (like now), it ain't that much. Plus SMALL company, <20 employees. We don't sell hammers or toilet seats to the AF hammer swirl

  • Current resident of Colorado.

If you are a current resident of Colorado and an AU fan you might want to know (you may already know) that Oscars Blues Brewery in Lyons
was founded by an Auburn grad and he developed Dales Pale Ale while at AU.

PS- I am planning a CO vacation this summer and a stop in Lyons is on our iternerary.

I was not born an Auburn fan either. Applied to go to school there with a 28 on my ACT and a 3.8 GPA and got turned down, so I got a full ride here in Tennessee from MTSU to stay a little more local to family.

However, I bleed Navy and Orange and glad to have you on board!!!
