  • i sense that Marshall is the unspoken hopefull and Johnson redshirts.

  • I just can't believe that they will let Frazier sit. He has the skill sets to be great. It was apparrent the former staff just didn't know how to protect him or use him., or even help him. I thik that's why he looked so lost out there at times. I'll really be surprised if he doesn't get on the field. I felt so good about him coming in from Ark. With this staff he has a chance to be special. It's his for the taking if he puts in the work I guess. Nice problem to have to have the quality of QB we have now. All these guys could be starters somewere.. Just keep them all happy coaches and working hard .

  • Frazier also looked lost the year before with Malzahn calling the shots. If JJ is anywhere close to being ready, I hope we go with him and the future. We have forgotten what it's like to actually have a returning starting QB that is capable. Somebody better get busy!

  • Coach Lashlee and CGM will earn their pay -- in just selecting who the QB will be. Will the light turn back on for Frazier? will Wallace take a huge stride in improvement? Will Marshall become a Cam-type increda-athlete? Will Johnson fulfill expectations? Will Smith quietly vault over them all? Its a New Day -- but it will be an old problem -- naming a starter soon enough to fully prepare for the season. Stay tuned!

I agree with this. We'll see. I'll trust the coaches.

John Madden said it best, "If you have 2 Quarterbacks, it means you have none".

    That is so true.......

Any time a team try's to play two QB's or is undecided going into the season, it's NEVER good.

It will be an interesting race. I don't think Nick Marshall came here to be second fiddle. I don't think we would have given him a scholarship had we not thought he could do it. If Marshall doesn't win the job, I will be VERY surprised.

... If neither Wallace or Frazier take advantage of that by playing lights out in the spring and put who the starting qb will be to rest before Marshall shows up, then I like Marshall's chances.

There is no way the qb situation is put to rest before fall camp. The coaches promised these 3 guys a chance and will stay true to that. I don't think you can read anything into the fact that there won't be a starting qb named coming out of spring camp.

I think Nick Marshall was signed to play QB and the competition will go on until a week or so before the season starts. I also predict that the delay in naming a starter will put this board into meltdown.

I agree that Marshall was signed to play but I am not certain he wasn't signed as an insurance policy should Frazier or Wallace fail to separate themself during the spring and carry that separation to the fall. I am hoping we have the luxury to redshirt Johnson and let him run the scout team. With the athleticism of Wallace and Marshall, I expect to see them on the field but Wallace could be at wide receiver and Marshall could be in the secondary.

As for the "meltdown," if we are inside two weeks to kickoff and we still have five guys in the mix with no separation, that "meltdown" will be EPIC! But, I am reasonably confident we will be down to two fairly well known contenders by then with a strong sense that we will be solid at starter and backup regardless of the order. If that happens, there will either be significant angst, that we don't have a clear starter, or a perception that we are so solid that life will be good. The debate over which view is correct would be rather "heated" I suspect.

if KF sits it will be because he did not show aptitude for the position and failed to respond to tasking........ it will be all on KF nobody else.....

  • does CGM ever do anything half-ass? Nope, he doesnt.....I think the HUNH genius will have the team ready to play on time......Coach Lashlee said it, "after a few weeks we will have to make that decision, this person goes this way or that way...." Marshall has a chip on his shoulder and he has the experience - it will be him or Wallace.....
