  • Poor kid...I hate that he is being pressured so much. Honestly, I'm not going to be upset at him no matter where he goes. This is supposed to be one of the most exciting times in the life of a young athlete, but it looks like this rivalry and the pressure he is being put under is a nightmare.

    I really feel for him...

It's one of the craziest things I've seen covering recruiting.

  • I dont care how much I love auburn, I will always love my fellow man more. We should never make people feel guilty or pressured about a decision that has no inherit moral component. It's not a sin to go to another school. My wife went to Alabama, and she is by far the best decision I've made yet.

  • Well maybe the FBI needs to look into his Father and what the church ends up with if he goes to uat ! (just kidding)

  • What saddens me is that his own guardians are not backing his decision. They should be looking out for his best interest whether he wants to go to Auburn, Alabama or any other school that he feels most comfortable being at the next four years. They should be telling him to pick the school that fits him the best and to heck with everyone else. Instead, they are the ones who appear to be putting the most pressure on him to go to Alabama. Sad, sad situation.

  • If it is honestly that bad for the kid, then he just needs to go to Bama. I don't think most will hold it against him.

Strive for perfection in everything we do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, create it.

  • The fact is that he backed out of one committment and may back out of another committment...some folks don't like someone who doesn't stand by their word. I understand his father being upset but think he will support his son's decision once the LOI is signed.

  • I agree with everyone. Where is the family and what are they thinking? I hope he finds peace soon.

  • This is why it is great to be an Auburn Man!

Every person who replied to this thread seems to care more about this young man as a person than they do about what he can bring to the football team...and probably none of us know him personally.

Contrast that with the venom and hatred directed at this guy from the University across the state. People threatening him on facebook, wishing him harm, calling him "benedict arnold" and probably much more than we even know about. Its not only sad, its shameful and embarrassing...

Its great to be an Auburn Tiger!

Like hell if I'm willing to give up on him (as if I have a say in the matter) and I hope our coaches aren't giving up either. Without him we are going to have some depth issues at rb. We need this kid and to give up on him because bama is putting a ton of pressure on him would be giving in to the big brother scenario. And I'm not willing to let the bama nation think auburn as the little brother anymore. I do wish him the best, but unfortunally i think the best for him would be to get away from his step father as he is gonna have to deal with this situation for as long as he lives if he doesnt. Come on coaches keep this kid on board. WDE

  • Of course we all want him - but at what cost? I would never want to push someone into something they aren't sold on. I don't care about depth issues at running back if it comes down to emotionally destroying a kid.

I don't think anyone here is wanting to give up on Brent...we are saying that if he comes to Auburn...GREAT! If he decides to go to Turdtown, we aren't going to attack him on FB, etc.

  • Maybe he just need to leave the state, go to Tenn or some other school.

    AUhomer

  • i just read an article that his adopted brother is at Tuskegee. did the father not think that maybe Brent wanted to be near his brother?

  • What this boy needs is for folks to get down on their knees and pray for him. Clearly he has a need that goes beyond college football. I can't even imagine how tormented he must be when he seems to have nobody.

    autigergirl

  • Much like others, the only way I'd like to see him at Auburn, is if he wants to be at Auburn.
I hope the kid can make his decision without family pressures. The pressure from all the schools recruiting him is enough. Whatever he chooses, he's going to feel like he let someone down. Like others, I hope he can be happy with whatever decision he makes. I have no doubt he would love it at AU, but someone that young, you never know what they are thinking. Like I've said before, if I knew then what I know now...........

  • God Bless you Brent Calloway...Whatever you decide and Wherever you go...I hope you find peace , happiness and contentment within yourself about your decision!

  • Ha. I got down voted for my comment. Some of yall are very cavelier with that feature (probably worst feature added to this site). If you will re read what I said I never said anything negative to the nature that I don't wish him the best. I said I don't want our coaches to give up on him for the simple reason that he is feeling alot of pressure. Some of your comments (particularly the one I quoted) sounded like you were willing to give up and that he should just do what his step father wants. I'm not going to wish him to do bad at any other school. I was just saying I don't want our coaches to give up on him. If we lose out but never stopped seeking him then so be it. But if we lose out because the coaches decided they didn't want to make the decision hard for him (as some make it sound (not all)) then I would be very disappointed in our coaches. Don't worry guys I will go ahead and start down voting all of my opinions to save y'all the trouble
