My point exactly. The ultimatum part I think is very plausible. Gus just yanking his scholly? No way. Dee Liner would have ran his smart mouth on twitter about it by now. Think about that for a moment. If we had yanked his offer, you know Dee would have already been shooting off his fat mouth and you know that's true.

My guess is that some Auburn coaches asked him right to his face, "what are your intentions, where do we stand. Let's be honest and up front. Be a man....", etc. And with the pressure on, he decided it wasn't fun anymore playing this game. Something along those lines. I don't see our staff as the type that has any time for playing games.

At the same time, if Auburn did yank his scholarship, I personally don't think that's something Liner would broadcast to the world. I think he has too much pride to let people think we walked from him. It's not humiliating, but it sure isn't flattering. So I think if it did happen (which it didn't), I don't think we'd ever know because I don't think Liner would be eager to admit it, and there is absolutely no upside to the staff doing it (let alone admitting it).

Let's just all be glad this drama is over and done with long before signing day. I wasn't looking forward to him pretending there is suspense as he picks Alabama over us on national TV. Now the spotlight is off of him and he can go be where he wants to be. Later.
