I at times get on a
and this is one of them. To start my youngest son who is 34 now was sexually abused by a janitor at a school he attended when he was 8 years old and we didn't find out about it until years later. I hope no one ever ever has this experience but child abuse does exist in the real world.
I keep reading about the outrage many individuals have towards Joe Paterno and all are justified BUT and it's a BIG BUT...most are full of S**T. Here's why....most are giving an opinion about why Joe's statue should be taken down, his name taken off this and that and all that crap. What should be happening and discussed is "How do we help?". Me personally I donate considerably to two organizations who help protect abused kids and have for years. I ask...What have you done lately to help? Joe Paterno did nothing and for anyone to criticize him and do nothing are all hypocritical self serving asses.
Try..Standupforkids.org; Childhood-usa.org or Childhelp.org there are more but these 3 groups are pretty good.
Time to live up to your outrage...Be like Joe or not, it's your choice but it was never the child's choice.

Sorry to hear about your son. No kid should ever have to deal with that.
I like the angle you take, don't complain, do something.
I do think the removal of that statue is doing something. Send a message that no matter who you are, you need to advocate for those in need.
Again, sorry to hear about your experience with this.

The sale of the melted bronze of which the state is forged would make a great donation to a child abuse charity indeed; therefore, removing the statue "would" do something.
I digress, if Paterno did nothing wrong...then, well, his name should be cleared.
