  • Hey, Auburn Fans! I just downloaded my pictures from the National Championship game. Because we were on the south end of the field, opposite from the action at the end of the game, I made pictures of the jumbotron and scoreboard. The attached picture reveals that not only did # 19 take the snap and hold the ball for the 19 yard field goal to break the 19-19 tie to win the National Championship, but there were 19 seconds left on the play-clock.

All of us have wondered at times whether or not we are in God's will. With each injury and disappointment, Keith and I wondered if God wanted Neil to play football at Auburn . But Neil always felt he was in God's will, even when things didn't go like he wanted them to. Getting to be a part of the National Championship team seemed to be an affirmation that he was right to stick it out. But God always exceeds our expectations. Sometimes God gives us signs.

You can do the math and see it is no coincidence. I believe God orchestrated Neil's last college football game to show His power and to affirm to Neil (and us) that # 19 was right where he was supposed to be all along. (Matthew 25:21)

For now I see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
    (First Corinthians 13:12)

God always does what He says He will do. (Psalm 33:4 and Psalm 145:13)

God is all-powerful and He will never forsake us. (Psalm 37:28 and Romans 8:35)

God will bless those who seek to follow His will. (1 John 5:14 and Matthew 26:39)

God requires us to humble ourselves and take the form of a servant. (Matthew 20:26 and 23:12)

"Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:30-31

Thank you for sharing in this experience with us. Thank you for all your prayers and support. Our God is an awesome God!

  • Just like the Bible says, there are no unimportant parts to the body! It's a great time to bestow greater honor on someone like Neil, because without his help, the team wouldn't have won.

  • Hey we sit not to far from you at the games. Neil and your family truly represent the Auburn spirit. I didn't see the picture. Is it attached? What a story book ending for #19, #18, #2, #73 and #50. My favorite Auburn team of all time even better than '83. Great parenting equals great kids. War Fam Eagle.

  • No joking, I sat in seat #19 all year in JHS and had seats 19 and 20 in Glendale and told my buddy that I would def. be sitting in 19 before the game was ever played. Too funny!

  • To the Neil and the Caudle family, You never knew this but there was a group of us that prayed for each person on the team every week and mostly every day. Neil was covered with our prayers for 3 years but especially the last two. He has planted a huge crop of "good seed" in these years. He was plowing then and the harvest is going to be great! Thank you for letting us have him. I have prayed for you his parents as well. I know your faith was tried as silver and gold as well. I do hope you get this message somehow. Your son was noticed, admired and loved.

It's a new day in Auburn football!

  • According to Quinton, the first field goal was suppose to be a fake field goal with our tight end sneaking back on the field and into the end zone. I suspected Neil would be the one to take the snap and rise up to make the perfect throw to our tight end for a touchdown. The only problem was that the head ref started waving his arms and yelling hey hey hey when Litzenkerken (sp??? one day I'll learn to spell his name) tried to ease back on the field for the field goal without Oregon noticing. Spoiled the plan and Auburn settled for the field goal. The day Neil was on JOX I tried to get in to ask him about that play because that would have been a perfect ending to his career, him throwing a touchdown pass in the Natl Championship game. I wish only the best for Neil, he is a true Auburn man.

  • Neil has always had a special place in my heart. Thank you and Keith for your part in the development of a truly wonderful Auburn man. He has been a great representative for God and Auburn University. The best of luck in his life beyond Auburn, but he will always be part of THE FAMILY.
